An Overdue Update...

Time flies when you’re making major moves! I have had a whirlwind summer so far. The highlight: leaving my job at Nasdaq to take on a new, exciting role.

When I first started considering this move, it felt completely surreal. It was the peak of the pandemic in New York City, and I had a stable job. It seemed like the worst time to be making a career move — much less to a startup — until I really started thinking about it. What the pandemic did was remind me what I care about and stripped away a lot of the noise. Ultimately, I want to be spending 12 hours of my day working on something that matters, that makes the world better for a lot of people, not a select few.

So I make the choice, and once I did, it seemed like a no-brainer. I felt a weight lifted immediately - and, at the risk of sounding cheesy, I feel like I’m floating.

As the Director of Content Strategy at Voice, I am responsible for creating a cohesive user experience when consuming content both on and off the Voice platform. That means I get to work in a broad mix of areas: social media, email marketing, product development, user feedback, you name it. I am two weeks into the new role and absolutely loving it. There’s something about waking up every day and working on a project you truly believe in - with a group of people who feel the exact same way.

There’s so much more I want to say about my experience thus far, but much of it I can’t share quite yet. In the interim, check out some of my posts on the platform:

Let's Talk About It: What does America mean to me?

There will be no 'new normal'
